WHAT YEAR is it again?

Welcome back to another ODPH pro wrestling recap! Lots to discuss so lets jump in. Also, remember to check out #3FNW’s latest episode (https://pods8122.podbean.com) for more wrestling coverage. Shall we begin?

*The BIGGEST story of the week has to be……Bischoff & Heyman are back in creative at WWE?! Yes, you read that right. What year is it again, cause this is a throwback +. Bischoff was the kingpin that orchestrated the rise (& fall) of WCW back in the late 90’s/Early 2000’s. Bischoff introduced cruiserweights to the mainstream, developed the NWO, dominated the ratings for 82 weeks against the WWE among other notable moments.

Heyman has always been the father of “extreme” in many fans eyes. Making ECW into the counter-culture movement that he did was truly astonishing. Heyman is one of the most creative people ever to write for wrestling. Ultimately, the financials of the business brought down ECW but Heyman brought his mind over to the WWE & you have to credit some of the success of Brock Lesnar & CM Punk’s WWE runs to Heyman. All have left but now are back.

IF they get to be creative without TOO much Vince meddling, then there’s hope for something good. Bischoff can make magic happen & I can’t wait if they let him run 205 live. Heyman can make magic out of nowhere BUT he has to have freedom to make it. Remember the ECW-WWE rebirth? No Heyman, no good. Stay tuned….

*WWE Stomping grounds kicked off the week and was great….until the l;ast 3 matches (and Lynch/Evans which Evans showed she still needs some work for that spot on the card). Bad Roman/Drew ending, snooze fest between Kofi and Dolph in a cage (except for the end spot) and the train wreck of the main spoiled a great show.

*WWE TV was ok, but HOLY EFF: SHAYNA BASZLER VS. IO SHIRAI NXT CAGE MATCH! MOTY CANDIDATE! NXT killed it again & proved that the brand is one of the best out right now.

*Not to be outdone, AEW is having their 2nd show of the year “FYTER FEST” on Bleacher Report LIVE this weekend. Lets break down the card:

*BUY IN Preshow: SCU vs. Best Friends vs. Private Party (1st round bye for winners in tag title tourney). Expecting big things from this match and sensing SCU wins this one due to “help” from the Drak order (FKA S. Smash bros).

*Michael NAKASAWA vs. Alex Jebailey

Nakasawa is so goiung over on this just to continue Matt Jackson’s angle on BTE

*Nyla Rose vs.Riho vs. Yuka Sakazaki

Nyla Rose should be the winner here, but don’t doubt this match stealing the show.

*Christopher Daniels vs. CIMA

If SCU wins the opener, CIMA is winning here.

*Darby Allin vs. CODY

Allin is an up & coming star in the making. Win, Lose or draw, expect a strong showing. Lets go with the upset here. Allin wants t make a statement, look for the upset here.

*Hangman Page vs. Jimmy Havoc vs. Jungle Boy vs. MJF

Page & MJF are the future of AEW. One of those 2 are winning. Lets go MJF to build some hype after Page wins the title at All Out.

*Jon Moxley vs. Joey Janela

There’s no way you pay Moxley THAT much money to job after how he ended “Double or Nothing”. The match will fail unless SUPER HUMMAN enters this match!

*The Lucha Brothers & Laredo Kid vs. THE ELITE (Kenny Omega & the Young Bucks)

The build for this has been the Lucha’s mystery partner…in which Laredo is great, but relatively unknown to mainstream fans. Elite goes over.

There’s a ton on Wrestling Twitter to check, so stay tuned for more news breaking out this weekend, Thanks for reading!
